Before I started contribution at work, I worked in Shell. I have been Human Resources (HR) Manager, I have worked in a ‘middle and small business’ subsidiary and I have worked in other HR disciplines like Employee and Industrial Relations, Organisation Development and Effectiveness.
In my last job, I was a senior organisation design and job evaluation consultant for Shell worldwide, In the team, I was a pioneer in the development of the model to do full business reviews. With that, the work became more and more strategic, forward looking and organisation design focussed. I was heavily involved in the recent Shell/British Gas integration. With HR as one of my portfolios, I was close to new developments in HR.
What I enjoyed the most was the opportunity to talk to leaders about their business and their strategy. I experienced how proud they were of the organisation, the people and their work and how intrinsically motivated.
As the work in the department matured, I helped to build the capability of others so that others could take over. I kept developing new ideas, that I am taking forward in my own company.
